The most commonly used repellent is Bifenthrin, which has a lasting effect of as many as five years after application.

Non-Repelling Chemicals

These chemicals are not sensed by termites, and therefore the termites do not avoid exposure to the chemical. Once exposed, the white ants will soon die, and will pass the chemical on to fellow colony members, thus resulting in a flow on effect.

Because the termites don’t detect these non repellent chemicals, they cannot tell untreated from treated areas, and are much less likely to gain ingress via possible breaks.

The commonly used non repellent chemical is Fipronil, which has a lasting effect of as many as 8 years following application.
